MEET THE TEAM
Michael Holliday, FAIA
Co-Founder and Director
Michael Holliday is an award winning Architect, Entrepreneur and Business Leader who has lived and practiced architecture in the Santa Barbara region for over 25 years. He was recognized as a FELLOW in the American Institute of Architects in 2012 joining less than 2% of architects nationwide with that prestigious professional designation. In addition to being an architect, Michael also serves as the Founder and Director of SYNERGY Business & Technology Center where he and his wife Beverly have hosted over 50 different startup businesses and entrepreneurs in the downtown beach Santa Barbara area.
Co-Founder and Manager
Beverly Holliday is the award-winning mom of SYNERGY. Hands down, she gets all the credit for making SYNERGY a super cool place for young entrepreneurs and start-up businesses to work, hang out, and feel at home. Beverly has a BS in animal science from Cal Poly SLO and puts her professional training into practice each day as she manages her husband and three entrepreneurial sons. Beverly is a great cook and loves making delicious homemade munchies for all the members at SYNERGY. She also manages the business side of things and makes everyone feel welcome.
Emily Johnson is the young, energetic marketing coordinator for SYNERGY. She helps to spread the word about all the cool stuff that is happening on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. With a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance and Arts Administration from Drury University, Emily has an interest in Corporate Sustainability and Nonprofit Strategic Leadership. As a certified yoga instructor, she also helps keep SYNERGY flexible, focused, happy and moving forward. Her positive outlook on life and networking interest helps to connect SYNERGY companies with important strategic resources.
Zoe Reifel is a senior at San Marcos High School. Her broad range of interests revolve around multimedia, technology, and entrepreneurship. As the Vice President in the Accelerated Academic Program for Leadership and Enrichment (AAPLE), Zoe coordinates student committees and works with Santa Barbara community leaders. Zoe is best known for her award-winning film The Tickets and as a principle organizer of the event TEDxYouth@TheFunkZone. As a media intern at SYNERGY, she uses her skills in photography, filmmaking, graphic arts, web design, to create social media content and communicate the vibe and vision of SYNERGY.
